Erik Pieters joins PSV

Of Footballs many robust moves in the off-season, one that has got far too little attention is the move of left-back Erik Pieters to PSV from FC Utrecht for a reputedly transfer fee of €3m. Only nineteen years of age, Eric was a highlight for Utrecht last season, is known for his attacking spirit, aggressive physical tackling, high work-rate, all of which are at a level of maturity that has you second-guessing his actual age. While only starting his professional career a few years ago, his growth has been nothing short of meteoric, including being an influence component in the Netherlands U-21 Squad. Eric has an extremely bright future and I expect to see him make an immediate impact with the rood-witten.
