Real Mallorca match review
By: j | August 15th, 2008Thanks to the world of the internet where virtually every match is streamed, I was able to catch the PSV v Real Mallorca in beautiful Palma, which PSV won in a match decided on penalties. In the final friendly of the pre-season, both squads showed a reasonable amount of creativity in the midfield, displaying good movements in the line but chances were few and far between. As you would expect Ibrahim Afellay and Nordin Amrabat continue to shine but special mention of the night must go to Balázs Dzsudzsák. The young Hungarian provided the spark for Stijn Wuytens late tying goal and continuously provides a spark to the attack. Along with Reimond Manco and the afore-mentioned Stijn, PSV possesses a wealth of talented young players pushing for playing time.
The match ended in a draw and well past night-night time for the kiddie corp, PSV won the match on penalties and hoisted Trofeo Ciudad de Palma, which is quite possibly the largest trophy in the world. The club left shangri-la and have returned home to prepare for the start of the Eredivisie.
