report on friendly VV Gestel
By: j | July 19th, 2008
Remember when I mentioned that todays friendly would be “friendly” and I didn’t expect PSV to unleash a complete onslaught. I think you can safely say, I was wrong. However in the realm of “just be nice” to the Gestel crew and be quoted as saying “it was closer then it sounds.” Sure why not, in-fact lets be bold (for their sake) and say this was the closest 11-1 match I’ve ever heard-of.
Obviously the intent of a match like this is just a simple run-out; a chance to work together without aggressive tackling or risk to your own players. However little can truly be learned from situations such as these and you have to just chalk them up as a training ground exercise. That it was and Huub will be looking forward to getting back on the grounds and pushing the squad on.
