when a bad week gets worse: AZ defeats PSV 1-0
By: j | September 21st, 2008PSV suffered their first loss of the Eredivisie in losing to Louis van Gaal’s AZ Alkmaar. Hubb Stevens had numerous chances to get on the scoresheet particularly before the break but couldn’t finish. Finally with eight minutes left in regulation Maarten Martens collected a pass from Mounir El Hamdaoui and chipped over an on-rushing Andreas Isaksson.
PSV faces Frans Adelaar’s newly promoted FC Volendam next week in the Eredivisie as well as mid-week action in the KNVB Cup.
